Job summary

Northern College in Ontario is hiring a Job Consultant/Job Developer to deliver Employment Option Programs within the college catchment area. The role focuses on case management, employment consulting, coaching, placement, and information services to help job seekers obtain employment.

You will conduct intake interviews, assess eligibility, complete documentation, and develop workshops based on assessed needs. Bilingual English/French is an asset.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma in Human Services or related field; a diploma in Business may be considered.
• Minimum three years of experience in career and employment guidance and counselling, employment workshop delivery, or job placement.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, implement, and monitor activities related to employment and training programs and services, including case management, employment consulting, coaching/mentoring, placement, resource, information services and more to assist job seekers to obtain employment.
• Conduct intake interviews to determine client eligibility and needs including assessments of clients’ eligibility for various employment programs and opportunities by identifying and documenting clients’ skills, interests, abilities, barriers, educational background, and work experience
• Complete all appropriate file documentation such as application forms, service plan agreements, releases of information; and
• Research, develop, and deliver workshops on topics as a result of the assessment process and the ongoing needs of the client.
