Job summary

TELUS Health seeks a fitness and wellness professional to provide coverage at a corporate wellness centre in downtown Vancouver during team member vacations and absences. You will support daily operations and create a welcoming member experience on-site.

Role includes front desk support, safety procedures, attendance tracking, and coordinating activities with potential to lead fitness sessions based on qualifications. Independent contractor arrangement, on-site schedule.

Qualifications

• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
• Degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Fitness, Health Promotion, Workplace Wellness, or a related field (asset).
• Current group fitness instructor and personal training certifications (asset).
• Experience working in a wellness/fitness centre (asset).

Responsibilities

• Provide front desk coverage, welcome members, and respond to inquiries.
• Complete facility walkthroughs, monitor supplies, and report facility or equipment concerns.
• Support safe centre operations and follow established emergency procedures.
• Track attendance, promote programming, and support wellness initiatives.
• Provide equipment orientations and coordinate scheduled fitness activities.
• Lead fitness classes or wellness breaks as needed and within your qualifications.
