Job summary

Kelowna General Hospital is seeking a Relief Full-Time Cardiology Services Clerk to join the Cardiology Services team, supporting patient flow and registration for cardiac testing.

Hours are 07:00 to 15:00 with days off Sun, Sat, and STAT. End date: 2027-04-05 or until return of incumbent. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and interdepartmental communication within our care network.

Qualifications

  • Two years of recent related experience.
  • A 5-minute typing test (45+ NWPM) from a recognized institution within past 48 months.

Responsibilities

  • Patient registration.
  • Scheduling, booking and communicating appointment information to staff, patients, physicians' offices and nursing units.
  • Ensures forms and documentation are available for cardiac testing.
  • Reception duties: answering phones, relaying messages, visitors, mail handling.
  • Completes registration/billing forms.
  • Types documents: reports, memoranda, letters, minutes, presentations, financial info.
  • Arranges meetings: books rooms, distributes agendas, transcribes minutes.

This position performs a variety of clerical duties related to the work of the Diagnostic Cardiology department, such as:

  • Patient registration.
  • Scheduling, booking and communicating appointment information to Diagnostic Cardiology staff, patients, physicians' offices and/or nursing units.
  • Ensures pertinent forms and documentation are available for cardiac testing.
  • Reception duties - answering telephones, receiving and relaying messages, receiving and directing visitors, distributes incoming and out-going mail.
  • Completes a variety of standard forms for registration/billing purposes.
  • Types a variety of documents – medical reports, memorandums, letters, minutes, education documents, presentations, statistical tables and financial information.
  • Arranges meetings - books meeting rooms, types and distributes agendas, transcribes minutes and notes of meetings and disseminates.
