Job summary

St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide autonomous clinical care within Cardiac Clinics.

You will apply advanced nursing and medical theory, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe pharmacologic agents as appropriate. The role requires CRNM registration, five years of acute care experience in relevant specialties, and eligibility for academic appointment with the University of Manitoba.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in common software (word processing, e-mail, internet) required.
• Advanced nursing care knowledge for health assessment, diagnostics, pharmacotherapeutics, and invasive/minor procedures.
• RHPA-compliant scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced nursing/medical theory to clinical care, autonomously ordering/interpreting tests and prescribing agents.
• Contribute to knowledge development and involvement in advancing nursing.
• Integrate medical/nursing knowledge into clinical practice.
• Demonstrate competence to plan, implement and evaluate complex care and to teach others.
• Provide problem-solving within the team and with patients and physicians.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
