Job summary

St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for the Cardiac Clinics to provide autonomous clinical care, including diagnostic testing, prescribing medications, and performing minor procedures.

You will contribute to nursing theory and practice while collaborating with physicians and the multidisciplinary team. The role requires a Master’s degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) and eligibility for academic appointment with the University of Manitoba, as well as current CRNM

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in word processing, e-mail and internet applications.
• Advanced nursing care knowledge related to health assessment, diagnostics, pharmacotherapeutics and invasive procedures.
• RHPA scope of practice as documented by regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous clinical care including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe pharmacologic agents and perform minor invasive procedures as appropriate.
• Apply current nursing and medical theories to patient care and clinical practice.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver comprehensive care.
• Incorporate medical knowledge to support nursing practice and research activities.
• Demonstrate leadership and teaching within the clinical team.
