Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre in North Bay, Ontario, seeks an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform comprehensive ultrasound, including neonatal studies, with a focus on cardiac imaging. The role requires independence in judging findings and collaboration with the health team to ensure patient‑focused care.

Applicants must be registered as Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) with the Ontario College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists and hold a BLS‑HCP certificate;

Qualifications

• Registered as Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario.
• Experience in adult, paediatric and neonatal ultrasound.
• Paediatric Certification is an asset.
• BLS-HCP Certificate.
• Experience in all aspects of general ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult and paediatric ultrasound including neonates.
• Perform diagnostic cardiac sonography using independent judgment to differentiate normal vs pathological findings.
• Collaborate with health team to deliver patient-focused care.
• Maintain safety and participate in professional development.

Department: Diagnostic Imaging - Echo Ultrasound

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

• Member of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario, registered as Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) is required
• Required to perform adult and paediatric scanning including neonates
• Perform diagnostic cardiac sonography procedures using independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings
• Paediatric Certification is an asset
• Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS-HCP) Certificate
• Experience in all aspects of general ultrasound required

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health team required
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of client groups to ensure patient focused care delivery

• Good attendance and work record required
• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
