Job summary

Pitt Meadows Plumbing and Mechanical Systems in Maple Ridge is seeking a Red Seal Welder for its night shift. You will read blueprints, lay out parts, and weld using GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, and MCAW to support large-scale plumbing and mechanical projects.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification required.
• Minimum 3 years welding experience.
• Proficient in SMAW, MCAW, GMAW, GTAW welding processes.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding process specifications.
• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies per specifications.
• Tack weld or weld components using GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, MCAW processes.
• Operate manual, semi-automatic and CNC cutting equipment.
• Comply with health and safety policy and QA/QC procedures.
• Develop a strong understanding of each project and work within software/ tooling as required.

Reporting to the Welding Supervisor, the Red Seal Welder will:

• Work alongside other members of the welding team made up of journeymen and apprentices.
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding process specifications.
• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using a straightedge, combination square, callipers, and ruler.
• Tack weld or weld components and assemblies using GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, MCAW welding processes.
• Operate manual, semiautomatic & automated cnc cutting equipment.
• Comply with company health and safety policy.
• Practice project-specific QA/QC procedures.
• Develop a strong understanding of each project.
• Work with order/fabrication tracking software and automated tooling as required.Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience

• Red Seal Certification

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the welding industry
• SMAW, MCAW, GMAW, GTAW
• SMAW CWB Valid all positions
• FCAW, CWB Valid all positions

Compensation: $40.00 to $47.25/h + 5% RRSP + 100% Employer-paid Extended Health & Dental benefits package + LTD + Life Insurance + AD&D.
