Job summary

Pitt Meadows Plumbing and Mechanical Systems is seeking a Red Seal Welder for the night shift at our Maple Ridge shop. You will read blueprints, lay out parts, and perform GTAW/GMAW/SMAW welding while operating CNC cutting equipment.

Qualifications

Red Seal Certification and at least 3 years in welding
Experience with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, MCAW processes
Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings
CWB certification (all positions) is preferred
Legally eligible to work in Canada

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding process specifications
Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies per specs
Tack weld or weld components using GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, MCAW
Operate CNC cutting equipment
Maintain health and safety policies and QA/QC procedures

Reporting to the Welding Supervisor, the Red Seal Welder will:

Work alongside other members of the welding team made up of journeymen and apprentices.
Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding process specifications.
Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using a straightedge, combination square, callipers, and ruler.
Tack weld or weld components and assemblies using GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, MCAW welding processes.
Operate manual, semiautomatic & automated cnc cutting equipment.
Comply with company health and safety policy.
Practice project-specific QA/QC procedures.
Develop a strong understanding of each project.
Work with order/fabrication tracking software and automated tooling as required.
Perform other duties as required.
