Job summary

Pitt Meadows Plumbing and Mechanical Systems is seeking a Red Seal Welder with TIG experience to join our Maple Ridge shop. You will work with a team of journeymen and apprentices on residential, commercial, and design-build projects, following blueprints and welding procedures.

We offer competitive pay from $40.00 to $44.00 per hour, extended health and dental benefits, group RRSP, and opportunities for ongoing education and career growth. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in welding.
• Knowledge of SMAW, MCAW, GMAW, GTAW; valid all positions for SMAW.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding process specifications.
• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies per specifications.
• Tack weld or weld components using electrical, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• Follow health and safety policy and QA/QC procedures.
• Develop project understanding and work with fabrication tracking software.

Reporting to the Welding Supervisor, the Red Seal Welder will:

• Work alongside other members of the welding team made up of journeymen and apprentices.
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding process specifications.
• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.
• Tack weld or weld components and assemblies using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• Comply with company health and safety policy.
• Practice project-specific QA/QC procedure.
• Develop a strong understanding of each project.
• Work with order/fabrication tracking software and automated tooling as required.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience

• Red Seal Certification
• A minimum of 3 years experience in the welding industry
• SMAW, MCAW, GMAW, GTAW
• SMAW CWB Valid all position
• FCAW, CWB Valid all Position

Compensation: $40.00 to $44.00/h + 5% RRSP + 100% Employer-paid Extended Health & Dental benefits package + LTD + Life Insurance + AD&D.
