Description
The Field Service Technician is responsible for equipment maintenance and repair, documenting related repairs and services, and recommending system, program, and equipment changes to improve reliability, increase capability, and reduce customer costs. The Tech II performs these duties in the field with minimal supervision and coaching.
Essential Functions
- Performs scheduled and preventive maintenance on equipment as assigned
- Troubleshoots chemical, mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment, PLC controllers, and power supplies; performs diagnostic analysis
- Provides technical assistance to customers and distributors
- Provides on-site technical training on equipment use, operation, and maintenance
- Assists in installing new carwash equipment
- Performs repairs and corrects malfunctions
- Modifies or updates equipment as needed
- Maintains tools, test equipment, and materials professionally
- Maintains company-owned and leased equipment
- Operates vehicle safely and courteously, obeying laws and regulations
- Works with customer-specific processes
- Participates in problem-solving for customer complaints
- Communicates effectively with customers and team members
- Keeps abreast of new developments and innovations
- Ensures clear and accurate information flow
Experience and Education
- 3-5 years of field experience
- Technical knowledge and ability to develop improved methods
Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and follow instructions and documents
Technical Competencies
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read electrical diagrams
- Understanding of OLC controllers, low voltage circuits, and three-phase power
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and use hands regularly
- Visual abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment
- Prolonged sitting
- Maintain professional appearance and grooming
