Job summary

Toronto Hydro is seeking an Associate Financial Analyst in Ontario to support capital planning, forecasting, and reporting. You will assist with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis to deliver timely financial insights.

You will collaborate with business units, apply IFRS standards, and use SAP/BI tools with strong Excel skills. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with on-site presence Tuesday to Thursday.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of progressive financial analysis experience.
• Working towards CPA designation in Canada.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience with SAP and BI tools.
• Intermediate Excel skills including Vlookups and Pivot Tables.
• MS Office proficiency: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Strong analytical, numerical and communication abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
• Collaborative with ability to build relationships across teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute analytical support for capital projects and capitalization treatment.
• Provide operational support to business units and document internal controls.
• Understand projects/contracts to recover costs from third parties.
• Implement risk management and ensure internal controls compliance.
• Process improvement around capitalization projects for accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle ad-hoc finance initiatives for planning and forecasting.
