Job summary

CIBC in Toronto is seeking an Analyst for the Capital Markets COO team to support the day-to-day data loading for client reporting. You will work with large datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and proper organization across reporting periods.

The role offers exposure to data quality, process improvements, and new data sources, with hands-on use of Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and the internal AI tool to build financial models.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, STEM, or related program with a graduation date no sooner than August 2027.
  • Location: Toronto, Canada; must be based in Canada for the duration of the term.
  • Duration: 4 months (January 2027 – April 2027).
  • Proficiency with Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and related data tools is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Load data into the client reporting tool and ensure accuracy across reporting periods.
  • Maintain client and business hierarchies and support updates to prior-period data.
  • Collaborate with team members to fulfill ad-hoc reporting needs and explore new data sources.
  • Propose process improvements and build new financial models using internal AI tools.

What you'll be doing

Join the Capital Mark ets COO team as an Analyst and support the day-to-d ay pr ocess of loading data into the client reporting tool. In this role, you'll work with large datasets and help ensure the information is accurate, consistent, and organized properly across reporting periods. You'll assist with maintaining client and business hierarchies, support updates to prior-period data when needed, and work with team members and stakeholders to help maintain data quality.

You'll also have the opportunity to suggest improvements to existing process es and explo re new dat a sour ces that can enhance reporting. You'll collaborate with other team members to fulfil the ad-hoc reporting requests and build the new financial models using the internal AI tool. This is a great rol e for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with data, and learning how reporting supports business decisions.

The expect ed annualized base salary for this role is $ 52,890 .

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Eco nomi cs, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or related program at the time of the internship, with a graduation date no sooner than August 2027.

Location: Toronto (Please note all employees must work within their current jurisdi ction and must reside within Canada. All CIBC Co-op positions require you to be based in Canada for the duration of the term)

Duration of Work Term: 4 months ( January 2027 - April 2027)
