About the Role

As ATB’s next Capital Management Analyst, you will be the core driver of our monthly Economic Capital (EC) reporting process, while also providing critical cross-functional support for Regulatory Capital (RC). You will leverage modern data platforms to run Monte Carlo simulations, update forecasting models, and ensure that ATB's capital metrics are accurately calculated, tracked, and visualized to support strategic decision-making.

Accountabilities
  • Economic Capital Reporting: Manage the end-to-end monthly Economic Capital reporting lifecycle to ensure timely and accurate metrics for key stakeholders.
  • Data Management & Analytics: Maintain data pipelines and execute modeling workflows to produce robust analytical insights across capital portfolios.
  • Performance Visualizations & Reporting: Develop and maintain capital dashboards and executive reports to support strategic risk management and executive decision-making.
  • Portfolio & Trend Monitoring: Monitor credit quality, perform trend analysis, and track portfolio dynamics to support risk assessment and capital allocation.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Partner with internal teams to integrate risk parameters and ensure comprehensive coverage of banking book exposure.
  • Governance & Process Improvement: Support data governance standards, promotion of validated data assets, and continuous optimization of reporting processes.
  • Planning & Forecasting Support: Contribute to quarterly capital forecasts, annual budget preparation, and early warning signal analysis.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Progress towards a CFA, FRM, or PRM designation is considered a strong asset.
  • Technical Acumen: High proficiency in Python (Jupyterlab) and SQL (Google BigQuery) for complex data manipulation and financial modeling.

  • Domain Knowledge: Solid foundational understanding of Finance and Banking. Knowledge and experience in Capital Management, Economic Capital (EC), Expected Loss (EL), Regulatory Capital (RC), and Monte Carlo simulations are highly preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze large datasets, perform trend and sensitivity analysis, and document model outputs clearly for stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data validation, ensuring inputs from varying financial sources accurately flow into our centralized EC reporting systems.
