Job summary

BBA Consultants invites a candidate to join the Digital Power Systems team in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC. You will design control, protection and automation for high‑voltage substations across Canada, and participate in on-site work to ensure quality before energization.

You will coordinate with teammates, lead testing in the lab, and contribute to commissioning digital power systems while collaborating in English and French with clients and offices.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering.
• Fluency in English and French for collaboration with offices and clients.
• Willingness to travel or work at client sites across Canada.
• Asset: IGEE diploma and IEC61850 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design control, protection and automation for HV substations.
• Participate in on-site work to ensure quality and compliance before energization.
• Coordinate and deliver projects with the BBA team.
• Lead testing activities in BBA’s lab and commission digital power systems.

Join BBA and kick‑start your career by actively contributing to various project phases as a candidate to the engineering profession in Digital Power Systems.

You’ll help design control, protection and automation systems for high‑voltage substations across Canada. You’ll also take part in onsite work to ensure work quality and system compliance before energization. You’ll play an essential role in managing, coordinating and delivering quality projects with the BBA team.

Summary of certifications and job requirements

• University degree in engineering
• Available for short- and long‑term work assignments at client sites
• Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients in English‑speaking Canadian provinces and internationally. The frequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending on ongoing projects
• Advanced level of French to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Ability to draft technical documents in both languages
• Asset: a diploma from the Institut en génie de l’énergie électrique (IGEE)
• Asset: knowledge of the IEC61850 standard
• Asset: experience in configuring and testing digital substation devices
• Asset: knowledge in configuring HMI/SCADA systems for power systems
