Job summary

SiteDocs, a GoCanvas company, seeks an Analytics Engineer I to collaborate across teams, evaluating customer data needs, designing data models, and delivering effective visualizations. You will work to enable data-driven decision making and influence our analytics strategy.

You will write and optimize SQL, build ETL/ELT pipelines, and develop scalable data models while mentoring teammates and contributing to best practices and documentation.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of SQL experience, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
• 1-3 years of ETL/ELT development experience.
• 1-3 years of data modeling experience.
• Experience with BI data visualization tools (e.g., Domo, Sisense, Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, Looker).
• Familiarity with transformation frameworks such as dbt.
• Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Working knowledge of Python or another scripting language for data transformation.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Understanding of data quality, testing, and validation practices.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong mentoring and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data across multiple sources.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and process data from internal and third-party systems.
• Design and develop data models that translate customer and business requirements into scalable, reusable structures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate customer data needs and recommend effective solutions.
• Produce clear, effective data visualizations and dashboards using BI platforms to enable data-driven decision making.
• Translate loosely-defined business requirements into executable action plans and technical specifications.
• Contribute to and help evolve analytics best practices, standards, and documentation.
• Mentor and support fellow team members, serving as a knowledgeable resource for the broader organization.
