Job description

We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our diverse and rapidly growing team in Montreal. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining the data transformation layer and building dimensional models that will feed BI tools. The objective for the role is to facilitate reporting and analytics for technical and non-technical users alike. We are looking for big picture thinkers with strong communication skills and a track record of independent problem-solving. We value creativity and innovation, hard work and on-the-job excellence. What you’ll do
  • Design and develop complex data models and transformations that standardize data definitions and promote data democratization
  • Lead discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders in order to understand business objectives and document requirements.
  • Work with our engineering team to understand what data is captured by our ELT pipelines, where, and how.
  • Produce detailed documentation describing the data models and the jobs that generate them
  • Build and own analytics infrastructure that delivers good quality data, reliably
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience writing production-grade SQL as an analytics engineer, data engineer, data analyst, or related role.
  • 2+ years hands‑on experience with dbt (models, tests, macros) in production.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (ETL/ELT, data marts), and data modeling techniques (dimensional modeling, one big tables, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data warehouses such as Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
  • Experience with version control (Git), DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to generate technical requirements from a set of non-technical stakeholder interviews.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy, quality, and integrity.
  • Some experience with common BI tools are an asset (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
Additional Assets
  • Demonstrate a strong intuition for data product design
  • Experience working with an orchestrator (Airflow, Dagster, AWS Step Functions)
  • Familiarity with semantic modeling using LookML, Cube, MetricFlow, etc. is a plus
  • Knowledge of Python, bash.
