Job summary

Walmart Canada in Tsawwassen, BC is hiring a Self-Checkout Attendant to support a positive shopping experience by assisting customers at the self‑service area and promoting company programs. You will maintain the self-checkout area, respond to EAS alerts, manage Scan & Go equipment, and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What You’ll Do

Maintain Self Checkout Area Standards

Maintains a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.

Promote Walmart Programs and Initiatives

Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.

Support Customers at Self Checkout

Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Clearly explain any interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and escalates cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.

Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete Documentation

Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.

Manage Scan & Go Equipment

Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.

Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)

• Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high-quality service.
