Position Summary...

Working as a Self-Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada offers a great opportunity to build valuable skills in customer service and retail operations. The Self-Checkout Attendant supports a positive shopping experience by providing friendly, helpful service and assisting customers as they complete transactions in the self-service checkout area. What you'll do...
  • Maintain Self Checkout Area Standards Maintains a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.
  • Promote Walmart Programs and Initiatives Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.
  • Support Customers at Self Checkout Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Clearly explain any interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and elevate cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.
  • Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete Documentation Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.
  • Manage Scan & Go Equipment Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.
Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule)
  • Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runssmoothlyand customers receive consistent, high-quality service.

  • Manages overnight hours effectively and planning accordingly to stay energized and focused.
  • Effectively manages work hours and plans ahead to maintain energy and focus throughout the shift.
  • Handles a fast-paced workload with efficiency, ensuring large volumes of restocking and recovery are completed accurately and on time.
Physical Demands
  • Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
