Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a Self-Checkout Attendant to assist customers at the self-checkout area and maintain a positive shopping experience. You will help customers complete transactions, keep the area clean and organized, and promote eligible Walmart programs.

The role requires attentiveness to safety, effective communication, and the ability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position starts at the minimum pay rate with room for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Self-Checkout Area Standards: Maintains a clean, safe, and organized self-Checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.
• Promote Walmart Programs and Initiatives: Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.
• Support Customers at Self-Checkout: Helps customers use self-checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Clearly explain interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and escalates cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.
• Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete Documentation: Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.
• Manage Scan & Go Equipment: Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.

• Performs repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.
