Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking an energetic team member for the Ottawa area. The role focuses on assisting customers, promoting products, and ensuring high service levels on the sales floor.

You will lead shifts, coordinate tasks, and support merchandising and training efforts with the Fresh Coach and Store Management teams. The position emphasizes strong communication, scheduling of associates, and creating a safe, well-presented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent Customer Service by greeting customers, assisting with products/services, locating merchandise, and resolving issues.
• Direct and coordinate daily tasks and schedules as per priorities from Fresh Coach and Store Management.
• Assess Fresh Department presentation and merchandise displays; implement changes as needed.
• Maintain clear communication; lead the daily Team Huddle and share updates and goals.
• Review schedules with People Lead and assign associates to cover tasks.
• Identify training opportunities during tours with the Coach and team; develop associates.
• Maintain a safe, clean store environment per policy; complete safety logs.

Position Summary...

Assists in the leadership of Fresh areas and department processes, respond to problems and inquiries, and develop associates through teaching and training. Ensure a high level of customer service while ensuring task completion.

Plans and executes department activities based on workload and operational functions and assists on the salesfloor as required.

What You’ll Do...

• Providing excellent Customer Service by greeting all customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions, resolving customer issues and referring concerns where appropriate.
• Assists in providing direction and the co-ordination of task completion as per communicated priorities from the Fresh Coach and the Store Management Team. Delegate, assist and follow-up on completion of daily Customer Availability process tasks.
• Assesses the overall presentation of Fresh Departments and appearance, noting deficiencies for corrective action and executes merchandising display changes where required.
• Ensure strong communication with associates, leads the daily Team Huddle at the start of each shift, and provide the team with updates, set goals, and track productivity.
• Review completed schedules with People Lead.
• Assign Associates to support coverage and availability tasks in all areas of the store.
• Tours assigned areas with the Coach and team associates to validate and identify training opportunities. Develops associates through teaching and training and provides feedback as needed.
• Contributes to a safe, clean and hazard free work environment through adherence to Company policy and procedures, including the completion of safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and free of debris.
• Complete GTA/Workday tasks and supports Management.
• Partner with Coach/People Lead to facilitate performance management and growth conversations for Associates. Supports recruiting and hiring new associates.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $20.85.
