Position Summary...
To support the Store Manager and manage store operations according to Company guidelines and lead Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales.
What you'll do...
- As a member of the Store Management Team, drive profitable sales through achievement of sales and profit goals, budget management, and sales forecasts. Proactively analyze and utilize sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs to identify and respond to market changes while controlling expenditures. Communicate sales results to associates and guide interpretation of results.
- Create operational plans with the Management Team; prioritize, delegate, and provide clear direction to Managers and Associates. Ensure optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, and store standards within Company policies and guidelines. Implement new store programs according to Company direction, evaluating effectiveness to achieve successful results in specific areas (Front End, Back End, Fresh, Operations). Cross-train as needed.
- Execute and monitor asset protection and safety controls; maintain quality assurance standards; oversee safety and operational reviews, ensuring compliance with Walmart policies and procedures, and safety, security, sales, financial, and record-keeping practices. Proactively respond to compliance issues, including Total Loss/general controls.
- Serve Customers as an ambassador by greeting customers, seeking feedback, and ensuring issues are resolved within Company guidelines to create a positive shopping experience. Model, enforce, and direct associates on friendly and helpful customer service techniques.
- Support store initiatives to serve the community by participating in community events and developing relationships with key groups. Engage in company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts to emphasize the store’s community role.
- Lead Associates through regular store meetings, communicating operational direction and initiatives focused on OMNI and the Total Store. Drive engagement, recognize accomplishments, and provide professional growth opportunities. Develop all associates, identify high-potential individuals, and provide training to enhance capabilities.
- Demonstrate Company values by holding Associates accountable through timely, honest, and respectful performance feedback and disciplinary actions. Build relationships with supporting functions like District HR Managers.
- Comply with all Company standards when handling merchandise, including sensitive items like alcohol, ammunition, narcotics, and high-ticket items. Ensure proper cash controls, handling up to two hundred and fifty thousand dollars per day.
