Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a qualified Maintenance Associate - Building at our Maple, ON Distribution Center. You will repair, maintain, and perform preventive care on building systems and equipment, ensure CMMS updates, and uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities include managing work orders, prioritizing tasks, supporting safety protocols, and assisting with inventory and cleaning. This role offers stable hourly pay and a focus on reliability and efficient facility operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in facility maintenance, ideally within a distribution center or industrial setting.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems, electrical and control systems including sensors and PLCs, pallet wrappers, emergency generators, MHE, and general building maintenance.
  • Familiarity with fire safety systems, emergency lighting, and relevant inspection protocols.
  • Ability to use and maintain power tools, hand tools, and other equipment required for repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience with CMMS to track and manage maintenance tasks and schedules.
  • Strong commitment to promoting health and safety practices in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of lock-out/tag-out procedures and safety compliance.
  • Preferred to have a diploma or certification in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field

  • Perform repair and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment, including Pallet wrappers, HVAC units, UPS, lighting, garbage compacting equipment, emergency generators, fire protection system, MHE, overhead doors, dock plates, trailer restraints, racking systems, and other key facility components.
  • Support CMMS by managing and prioritizing maintenance requests, logging work orders, and tracking equipment maintenance history.
  • Promote a culture of health and safety within the team and adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Follow equipment manufacturer guidelines and company procedures to ensure all tasks are performed to the highest standard.
  • Adhere to provincial laws, company training standards, and regulatory requirements when performing duties.
  • Ensure compliance with lock-out/tag-out procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist with maintaining the proper inventory of maintenance supplies, parts, and equipment.
  • Assist with painting and refurbishing various parts of the building, including racks, floor lines, doors, walls, and other areas.
  • Maintain high productivity and cleanliness standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Operate walk-behind and ride-on scrubbers to maintain floor cleanliness.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the warehouse, including regularly emptying waste bins.
  • Use a pressure washer to clean plastic totes, bins, and wooden skids.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment across the facility.
  • Support other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Position Summary...We are looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Associate - Building to join our team at the Distribution Center. The Maintenance Associate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and preventive care of the building and its equipment, including Pallet wrappers, HVAC units, UPS, lighting, garbage compacting equipment, fire protection system, emergency generators, MHE, overhead doors, dock plates, trailer restraints, racking systems, and more. This role will also involve supporting the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and following all safety and operational procedures to maintain a safe and efficient facility.
