Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a building maintenance related environment.
• Technical certification or trades school certificate.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work shift work and be available for call-in as required.
• Commitment to safe work practices and health and safety legislation.
• Effective communication and positive interaction with customers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to take initiative in completing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings and furniture.
• Assist trades staff and facilities management as required.
• Operate university vehicles when required.
• Perform grounds upkeep, cleanup, and vegetation control.
• Assist with keys and locks as needed.
• Conduct snow removal and ice control and maintain logs.
• Attend training on building and safety related issues.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
