Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
The Bench is seeking a Campus Content Interviewer to create short-form content across Montreal university campuses. This part-time, on-site role involves approaching students, filming authentic reactions, and conducting quick interviews for social media.
You’ll visit McGill and Concordia and cover selected university events, handling interviews from concept brief to footage collection while The Bench handles editing and publishing.
The Bench is a Canadian university sports platform built around the players, not just the teams. We’re creating a more engaging way for students and fans to follow U SPORTS through player-based pick’em, live stats, fantasy-style experiences, and original campus content.
Our goal is simple: make Canadian university sports more fun to follow and give students more reasons to care about the players and games happening on their campuses.
The Bench is looking for an outgoing and confident Campus Content Interviewer to help us create short-form content across Montreal university campuses.
This is a part-time, on-site role for someone who is comfortable approaching students, starting conversations, asking engaging sports-related questions, and filming authentic reactions and opinions for social media.
You’ll visit campuses such as McGill and Concordia, as well as selected university sporting events, and conduct quick street-style interviews with students and fans.
You will typically be responsible for the full interview process: approaching participants, briefly explaining the concept, filming the interaction, asking questions from behind the camera, and capturing clean, engaging footage. The Bench team will handle editing and publishing.
Interview formats may include sports debates, predictions, trivia, player comparisons, pick’em-style questions, challenges, and other campus-focused concepts.
Experience in journalism, broadcasting, podcasting, social media, sports media, interviewing, or content creation is an asset, but not required.
We care much more about your personality, confidence, reliability, and ability to connect with people than having a traditional media résumé.
Approximately 4–6 hours per week to start, typically organized into 2–3 hour filming sessions. Hours may increase around major games, events, or special content activations.
We’d also like applicants to include a short 30–60 second video introducing themselves and telling us why they would be a good fit for this role.
If you have previous examples of interviews, broadcasts, podcasts, TikToks, Reels, sports content, or other on-camera work, feel free to include them.
