Job summary

ESS Compass is seeking a First Cook for a Fly In/Fly Out remote camp in Smithers, BC. The role requires banquet or remote camp cooking experience and a valid Food Safety Certification. You will prepare, pre-cook, and manage mise en place for high-volume service while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• First Cook experience in a banquet or remote camp environment.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school or Red Seal Certification is an asset.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare mise en place for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use following health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products.
• Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
