Job summary

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan is seeking a Metallurgical Technician to join the McIlvenna Bay team. This full-time role supports monitoring, testing and optimization of mineral processing at the site, working with Metallurgists, Mill Operations and Laboratory staff.

The position emphasizes accurate data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement while adhering to safety and environmental standards. It requires the ability to work independently in a remote mine site, on a 14/14 rotation.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Metallurgical Technology, Chemical Technology, Mineral Processing or a related technical discipline.
• Previous experience in mineral processing, metallurgical testing or an industrial laboratory environment is preferred.
• Understanding of mineral processing operations including crushing, grinding, flotation and dewatering.
• Experience with laboratory testing, sample preparation and on-stream analyzers is an asset.
• Ability to collect, organize and interpret technical and production data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing to support metallurgical troubleshooting and optimization.
• Prepare daily production accounting samples and monthly composites; perform sieve sizing and particle size analysis.
• Coordinate sample submissions and shipments, manage lab consumables, and maintain accurate laboratory and sampling records.
• Perform plant sampling and support trials, sampling campaigns and metallurgical investigations.
• Assist with daily metallurgical balances, monthly production reconciliations, mass balances and performance analyses.
• Identify process variations, trends and potential issues; communicate findings to the Metallurgical team.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot on-stream analyzers and other process monitoring equipment.
• Maintain metallurgical databases, spreadsheets and technical records.
• Support process investigations and optimization across crushing, grinding, flotation and dewatering.
• Monitor grinding media and reagent inventories, usage and consumption.
• Participate in plant inspections, identify improvement opportunities, and help develop and update metallurgical procedures.
• Collaborate with Mill Operations, Maintenance and Laboratory teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Follow safety and environmental requirements, report hazards and unsafe conditions, and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
