Job summary

Transdev Canada is hiring a Call Centre Casual Booking Agent for our Cloverdale location in British Columbia. The role involves communicating with drivers, staff and passengers while upholding a high standard of safety.

The position is casual, unionized, with pre-scheduled shifts based on seniority, typically 3–4 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift. The successful candidate will have at least one year of dispatching/driving experience (preferred), strong knowledge of the Vancouver area, and the

  • Strong knowledge of Vancouver area and surrounding municipalities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all departments and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with drivers, passengers and staff in English.
  • Assist operators during emergencies or vehicle malfunctions.
  • Assign trips to routes and arrange alternate transportation.
  • Track daily driver/route activities and edit trips.
  • Respond to customer, passenger and vehicle incidents.
  • Coordinate scheduling and passenger issues with operations staff.
  • Process live same-day trip changes.
  • Complete dispatch paperwork (logs, mileage, reports).
  • Troubleshoot issues with drivers and reservations.

Job description

Transdev Canada is hiring a Call Centre Casual Booking Agent for our Cloverdale location.

You will be responsible for communicating with drivers, staff, and passengers while maintaining a high standard of safety, ensuring all interactions and bookings prioritize the well-being of everyone involved.

Your role
  • Communicate with drivers, passengers and staff via radio or other required communication devices in the English language.
  • Provide assistance to operators in the event of emergency or vehicle malfunctions, communicating with operations, safety and maintenance staff as appropriate.
  • Utilize the Trapeze PASS program.
  • Assign trips to appropriate routes.
  • Arrange for alternate or auxiliary transportation as required.
  • Track and record daily driver/route activities including daily trip edit.
  • Respond to customer, passenger and vehicle incidents.
  • Communicate with operations staff regarding scheduling or passenger issues.
  • Process live same-day trip changes as required.
  • Complete daily dispatch paperwork to include dispatch logs, mileage reports, road call reports and other required reporting as needed.
  • Troubleshoot problems with drivers, reservations information and trip assignments.
  • Open and/or close facility as per First Transit policy, depending upon work shift.
  • Other related duties as required.

Your profile
  • You have one year of recent experience with dispatching and/or driving (preferred).
  • You have strong knowledge of Vancouver area, surrounding municipalities and local neighborhoods (preferred).
  • You possess the ability to read, write and speak English.
  • You have the ablitiy to communicate effectively and work with all departments and staff.
  • You are capable of working independently within a team environment.
  • You possess the ability to deal politely with the public.
  • You are able to plan ahead and schedule work.
  • You have the ability to anticipate problems, delegate tasks and make decisions under pressure.
  • You can concentrate and focus on duties in busy andnoisy environments.
  • This is a casual, unionized position located in Cloverdale, BC.
  • Pre-scheduled based on seniority.
  • Possibility of 3-4 shifts per week, 8 hours.
  • Call in day of shifts.
