Job summary

Job description

Transdev is now hiring a Parts Clerk for our Kamloops location!

In this role, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an organized and efficient stock room for BC Transit and Transdev. You will collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure accurate work orders and warranty management, while also maintaining safety standards and compliance.

Your role :
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store parts, supplies, and materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all parts transactions are properly recorded.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify parts requiring replenishment.
  • Assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and report significant variances.
  • Identify obsolete, excess, or slow-moving inventory.
  • Maintain proper organization, labelling, and housekeeping within the parts area.
  • Ensure parts are stored in accordance with manufacturer, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Ensure parts are accurately charged to the correct WO.
  • Review WOs for missing or incorrect parts information and follow up as required.
  • Assist with tracking parts ordered for buses undergoing major repairs or awaiting parts.
  • Follow up with vendors regarding outstanding orders, backorders, and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain documentation related to parts purchases, returns, warranties, and core returns.
  • Prepare and process parts orders in accordance with company purchasing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate vendor and purchasing records.
  • Ensure invoices and supporting documentation are properly matched and forwarded for processing.
  • Support the Maintenance Department with the administration of accident documentation and claims.
  • Ensure accident-related documentation is collected and filed promptly.
  • Maintain an organized record of accident reports, photographs, estimates, repair documentation, and related correspondence.
  • Track accident-damaged units from initial assessment through repair and return to service.
  • Maintain a claims tracking log and provide updates to the Maintenance Manager as required.
  • Ensure documentation associated with accident repairs is complete and available for review.
  • Ensure accident-related invoices and repair documentation are appropriately coded and associated with the applicable unit/WO.
  • Escalate outstanding or delayed claims to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Review PM and complete relevant Wos/documentation.

Your profile :
  • You have 2-5 years experience in parts management.
  • You have a certification in parts management (preferred).
  • You have a valid class 5 BC driver’s license.
  • You have advanced problem-solving and analytical ability.
  • You are able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • You are able to work the assigned shift.
  • This is an on-site unionized position in Kamloops, BC.
  • Schedule is Tuesday to Friday from 12:00PM to 8:30PM and Saturday from 10AM to 6:30PM.
  • Training schedule will be Monday to Friday from 7:30AM to 4:00PM.
