Job summary

BC & Alberta Guide Dogs is seeking an experienced Regional Philanthropy Manager to grow philanthropic support and community presence across Calgary and Southern Alberta. This full-time role, based at the Calgary Training Centre, focuses on building relationships with donors, corporate partners, foundations and community supporters while expanding awareness of the organization’s life-changing work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in fund development, donor relations or related field.
  • Proven success cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors and securing revenue.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of donors toward fundraising targets.
  • Strong relationship-building with corporate, philanthropic and community networks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; confident public spokesperson.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing within a team and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies for Calgary and Southern Alberta.
  • Build and manage an active portfolio of individual donors, major gift prospects, service clubs, corporate partners, foundations and community supporters.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors and prospects; develop long-term relationships.
  • Achieve annual fundraising and revenue targets and identify new revenue sources.
  • Develop corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities; strengthen foundation relationships.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to identify media, storytelling and awareness opportunities.
  • Maintain donor records in CRM and provide regular reports and insights.
