Job summary

WestJet is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead front-line AMEs at the Calgary base. You will provide structure, guidance, and daily supervision to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and compliance with WestJet policies.

You will oversee staffing, training, performance reviews and collaboration with Planning, MCC, Engineering and Stores to sustain on-time aircraft operations while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Qualifications

• Holds a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2, E, or S).
• Hold an industry Canada Radio (Aeronautical) Certificate within six months of hire.
• Able to hold ACA and complete a maintenance release as defined in MPM Chapter 11.
• Demonstrate knowledge of industry practices and responsibilities.
• Able to self-manage and work shift work.
• Proven experience in coaching and motivating teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance personnel to ensure proper skill level and equipment/tooling is maintained for all work within AMO scope.
• Coordinate with Planning, MCC, Engineering and Stores to manage staffing and priorities.
• Expedite maintenance and parts requirements to minimize schedule impact during IROPS and scheduled work.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and quality standards across hangars and shops.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and performance reviews for AMEs.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and development to the maintenance crew.
