Job summary

Great Canadian Entertainment in Surrey, BC is seeking a Cage Supervisor to oversee the distribution, verification and reconciliation of cash floats, and to monitor day-to-day cashier operations while maintaining a safe, compliant and welcoming team environment.

Under the direction of the Cage Manager, you will lead by example, coordinate shift openings and closings, ensure licensing, food safety and Smart Serve requirements are met, and collaborate with guest-facing staff to deliver excellent

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years cage or cash handling experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Food Safety and Smart Serve Certification.
  • Ability to obtain Gaming License.
  • Willing to work varied shifts including afternoons, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Cage team performance and contribute to evaluations and objectives.
  • Prepare Cage for opening/closing; manage and reconcile cashier floats.
  • Verify and process large cash transactions and reconcile cash and cash equivalents.
  • Document results and provide reports; escalate discrepancies.
  • Provide site training and support with Cage team; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate with operational departments to maintain smooth workflows.

Ensures adherence to the Companys policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example, and supports Great Canadians learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Manager, Cage or the Manager, Cage & Count Operations, this position is responsible for distributing, verifying and reconciling floats, completing large cash transactions and monitoring the day-to-day activities of Cashiers. Ensures adherence to the Companys policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example, and supports Great Canadians learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities
  • Monitors the Cage team; provides input for team member performance evaluations and objectives
  • Prepares cage for opening and closing; distributes, verifies and reconciles Cashier floats
  • Verifies or completes large transactions
  • Documents and reconciles cash and cash equivalents; provides reports
  • Participates in Cage corporate training; assists in conducting site training
  • Monitors and reports all discrepancies and suspicious cash activities
  • Responds to, resolves or escalates cage issues
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
  • Ensures complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Manages other initiatives as required
Education And Qualifications
  • High School Diploma. Previous cage or cash handling experience preferred (minimum 2 years), along with previous supervisory experience
  • Food Safety and Smart Serve Certification
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts including afternoons, evenings, overnights, weekends and statutory holidays
Work Environment Considerations
  • Regular casino and cage environment, standing or sitting for long periods of time, non-traditional work hours
