Job summary

Great Canadian Entertainment is hiring for a Count Room Attendant responsible for securing bill validator drops and table game drops, working within a team, and upholding internal controls. Qualifications

  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent mathematical skills, including counting and attention to detail.

  • Strong observation and quick concept grasp.
  • Must lift up to 25lbs and have daytime availability (7:30am start).
  • Completion of Count Room and Cage Cashier training is required.

Responsibilities

  • Removes cash boxes from slot machines.
  • Transfers drops to count room areas with security escort.
  • Empties cash boxes and table game drop boxes.
  • Participates in the physical count of all currency.
  • Loads and balances NRT self-redemption units; performs other drops as assigned.
  • Verifies bank receipts and ensures drops are processed accurately and per policy.
  • Exemplifies customer service and creates Great Experiences.

Job description

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Cage management and supervisory team and with the guidance of the Lead Count Room Attendant, this position is responsible for picking up and securing the bill validator drop and/or the table games drop and ensuring its accountability. Must work well within a team, excel at multi-tasking and display exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. He/she will contribute to a safe and welcoming work environment for all coworkers. Must respect and adhere to all policies and procedures, regulations and Internal Controls. Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino Nova Scotia’s culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.

Key Accountabilities

  • Removes cash boxes from slot machines

  • Ensure that all drops are transferred to the count room areas with a security escort

  • Empties cash boxes and table game drop boxes

  • Transfers assets to the proper department using proper procedures and attention

  • Participates in the physical count of all currency from the casino floor.

  • Loads and balances NRT self - redemption units& performs other drops as assigned

  • Verifies bank receipts.

  • Ensures processing of all drops is completed efficiently, accurately and in accordance with policies and procedures

  • Exemplifies GEM customer service skills and creates Great Experiences and Memories

  • Develops and cultivates healthy working relationships.

  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations

  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

  • Finds ways to play; you are serious about work, without being serious in your demeanor

  • Chooses to make everyday a great day

  • Stays focused in order to be there

  • Delivers an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure you make their day

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent is required

  • Excellent mathematical skills, including efficient and accurate counting and attention to detail is required

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment is required

  • Must have solid interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening skills

  • Required to lift up to 25lbs at times

  • Schedule flexibility is required

  • Must have daytime availability (beginning at 7:30am)
