Job summary

MTE Consultants Inc. is seeking a CAD Technologist to join our Building Structures Division at the Toronto office.

You will produce design development and construction drawings, focusing on cold-formed steel stud drafting, and collaborate with architects and engineers to support project delivery. Ideal candidates have a diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology, 0–3 years of drafting experience, and strong AutoCAD skills; knowledge of Revit and the Ontario Building Code are assets.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology.
• Working towards a C.E.T. or C.Tech. designation is an asset.
• 0–3 years experience in a similar drafting role.
• Excellent drafting with AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit is an asset.
• Familiarity with Ontario Building Code is an asset.
• Experience reading architectural and structural drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and time management.
• Ability to work in team and independently with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Produce design development and construction working drawings, including cold-formed steel stud drafting
• Assist with developing and researching appropriate details for various project types
• Coordinate and review architectural and structural drawings
• Attend and participate in project team meetings and coordinate with team members to ensure efficient and timely delivery of project deliverables
• Perform site inspections, as needed
• Other related duties, as assigned

Requirements

• Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology
• Working towards a C.E.T. or C.Tech. designation considered an asset
• 0-3 years experience in similar role
• Excellent proficiency and experience in drafting with AutoCAD
• Knowledge and proficiency in Revit considered an asset
• Knowledge of the structures and cold-formed steel considered an asset
• Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code considered an asset
• Experience reading architectural and structural drawings
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong time management skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment to meet project deadlines
• Able to work within a team and independently
• Solid analytical skills and high degree of attention to detail

Salary Range

$23.79-$29.74 per hour, plus benefits

Hourly Wage will be based on individual education, qualifications, and relevant work experience.
