Job summary

Wellington Millwork Inc. is seeking a hands‑on Shop Manager / Buyer to oversee daily cabinet shop operations and lead purchasing, inventory, and scheduling. You will coordinate design, production, and installation teams, ensuring projects run on time and to quality standards.

Ideal candidates have strong cabinetry knowledge, 5+ years in related industries, and proven leadership. This role emphasizes process improvements, vendor management, and a safe, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cabinet manufacturing, millwork, construction, or related industries.
• Experience managing a production shop or leading a skilled trades team.
• Strong knowledge of cabinetry, woodworking, materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with purchasing, vendor management, and inventory control.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with computers, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office or similar software.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations: workflow, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate design, production, finishing, assembly, installation, and service teams.
• Prioritize work orders to meet schedules and deadlines.
• Monitor production capacity and adjust workflow for changing priorities.
• Maintain shop quality, cleanliness, and organization; support troubleshooting.
• Lead and develop shop staff; promote accountability and teamwork.
• Source, purchase, and negotiate materials; manage supplier relationships and lead times.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and implement control procedures.
• Plan production with project managers; coordinate deliveries and installations.
• Ensure safety procedures and equipment maintenance; promote a safe work environment.
