Job summary

Oakstone Millwork & Design is seeking a Junior Cabinet Maker to join our team in Southern Ontario. You will contribute to the creation of custom millwork while learning from experienced cabinet makers and helping deliver projects with care and attention to detail.

You will build, assemble, and install cabinet components, read shop drawings, and maintain a clean, safe workshop. This role offers hands-on growth in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Reads basic shop drawings and follows specifications.
• Experience with common woodworking tools and equipment.
• Committed to safe operating practices in the shop.
• Able to lift materials and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble custom cabinetry per drawings.
• Cut and machine cabinet components safely.
• Install hinges, slides, hardware to spec.
• Support production deadlines and maintain a tidy shop.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment.

Job description

Oakstone Millwork & Design creates custom cabinetry and architectural millwork for residential and commercial clients across Southern Ontario. The team is focused on producing high-quality work that balances craftsmanship, precision, and durability, with every project built to meet detailed client and design specifications.

This role is a strong fit for someone who wants to grow their woodworking skills in a hands-on production environment. As a Junior Cabinet Maker, you will contribute to the creation of custom millwork while working closely with experienced cabinet makers and supporting the successful delivery of projects built with care and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble custom cabinetry according to shop drawings and specifications.
• Cut and machine cabinet components safely using standard woodworking tools.
• Accurately install hinges, drawer slides, hardware, and other cabinet components.
• Support experienced cabinet makers with production tasks and project deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.

• Able to read basic shop drawings and follow detailed specifications.
• Experience using common woodworking shop equipment, including table saws, mitre saws, edge banders, routers, sanders, and cabinet hardware installation tools.
• Committed to safe operating practices when using woodworking tools and shop equipment.
• Able to lift materials and stand for extended periods safely.
• School-shop or apprenticeship exposure, or experience in custom cabinetry, general woodworking, or a millwork shop, is a plus.
