Job summary

Bird Nason Contracting Group is seeking By Hand Welders with Stainless Steel TIG experience for our project at DOW Chemical UPI scope in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. You will weld stainless steel by hand, read procedures and drawings, and mentor apprentices.

We offer day and night shifts with LOA of $170/day, travel allowances based on residency, and benefits and RRSP provided per the collective agreement. Join a safety‑minded team committed to quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 required.
  • Valid Journeyperson Welder Certification and CWB Certification required.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet welding targets.
  • Committed to quality, safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality stainless steel TIG By Hand welding in an industrial construction environment.
  • Read and interpret welding procedures, drawings, and specifications.
  • Produce accurate, clean welds that meet project and quality requirements.
  • Ensure welds meet quality standards and pass required visual and inspection criteria.
  • Work collaboratively with Pipefitters, Apprentices, and other craft professionals to maintain productivity and workflow.
  • Mentor and support apprentices as required.
  • Maintain safe work practices and uphold company standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed production welding targets.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.
  • Extensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work
  • The ability to lift, carry and handle weight up to 50lbs
  • Must be organized, self-driven, and have ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
