Are you a self-starter with a desire to achieve results in a fast-paced environment? is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Buyer to join their growing Merchandising team. The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong experience who is ready to take on any challenge.

This role is Hybrid, requiring presence in the Toronto Office 2-4 times a month.

This is a 12-month contract with a start date in early September 2024.

Responsibilities:

• Own the growth and development of a specific category, including:
• Achieve aggressive revenue, margin, and SKU count targets for your categories.
• Sourcing new vendors and distributors, onboarding new and innovative brands.
• Build seasonal programs with a robust assortment, meeting targets, and positioning as a gifting destination.
• Manage inventory levels, de-list unproductive SKUs and vendors to maximize sales and turns.
• Set strategic pricing for all SKUs and determine promotional pricing.
• Develop weekly promotions with key vendors to meet targets and drive traffic.
• Maximize vendor relationships, including securing coop and rebate dollars.
• Create insights on category/SKU performance and adapt to market trends.
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop a promotional calendar.
• Perform related duties to ensure category and business success.

Qualifications:

• Proven Buyer experience with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience within the Retail industry is an asset.
• Successful track record with top-tier retailers or brands.
• Strong analytical skills.
• A proactive self-starter, tenacious and creative in problem-solving.
