Job summary

Weldco-Beales Manufacturing is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement operations, review and approve vendors, and drive cost, quality, and schedule goals across manufacturing projects in Canada and beyond.

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Specialist, you will build strategic supplier relations, negotiate terms, ensure safety compliance, and contribute to process improvements while supporting growth and efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar procurement role.
  • Purchasing/Production experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes for manufacturing is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively.

Responsibilities

  • Review, inspect and approve new vendors.
  • Network and establish working, accountable relationships with vendors.
  • Negotiate, monitor and manage vendor performance for best value (quality, cost, schedule).
  • Continuously explore new vendor relationships to benefit the company.
  • Provide management with corporate purchasing opportunities.
  • Promote workplace safety and a safe work environment.
  • Other duties as required.

Who Are You?

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Specialist the Buyer applies their experience and passion to facilitate procurement operations by providing purchased goods that meet the cost, quality and schedule objectives to the mutual benefit of both the branch and customer.

What you will do:

  • Review, inspect and approve new vendors
  • Network, foster and establish working, accountable relationships with vendors
  • Negotiate, monitor and manage vendor performance to ensure the "best value" (quality, cost and schedule) is being attained
  • Continuously explore new vendor relationships to provide benefit to the company
  • Provide management with Corporate purchasing opportunities
  • Review, inspect and approve new vendors
  • Network, foster and establish working, accountable relationships with vendors
  • Negotiate, monitor and manage vendor performance to ensure the "best value" (quality, cost and schedule) is being attained

  • Comply to all safety regulations, policies and procedures
  • Other duties as required
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in similar capacity
  • Purchasing/Production experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes for manufacturing is an asset
  • Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
  • Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent safety record
