Job summary

Weldco-Beales Manufacturing in Barrie, Ontario seeks a skilled welder to join our team handling heavy plate steel and fabrications. You will read blueprints, follow tight layouts, and weld heavy attachments using MCAW/FCAW processes.

Overhead crane operation and forklift familiarity are valued, with a focus on safety and quality. We offer multiple schedule options, competitive pay with benefits, and a company pension plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of related experience in 1/16 metal core and 3/32 flux core is essential.
• Overhead crane experience is required.
• Forklift experience is an asset.
• Experience in heavy steel fabrication/machining/assembly is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with heavy plate steel.
• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
• Follow layouts, drawings and work orders.
• Weld various heavy equipment attachments using MCAW and FCAW.
• Operate overhead cranes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment at all times.
• Ensure workmanship meets cost, quality and schedule expectations.
• Participate in WBM safety program.
• Adhere to quality control standards and procedures.
• Other duties as required.

Reporting to the General Foreman, the Welder means being part of the team that brings it all together. Your pride in your ability to present high-quality artisanship will be recognized, as each attachment is custom designed. Every day can be a day for learning something new and for sharing your own knowledge and techniques with your teammates.

What Will You Do?

• Work with heavy plate steel
• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
• Follow directions given in layouts, drawings and work orders
• Welding of various heavy equipment attachments and components utilizing MCAW and FCAW
• Use of overhead cranes
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment at all times
• Ensure workmanship throughout the manufacturing process and on finished goods meets or exceeds the cost, quality and schedule expectations of all customers
• Active participation in the WBM safety program, ensuring that workplace safety exists at all time
• Adhere to quality control standards and procedures
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment at all times
• Other duties as required
