Salary Range: $79,000 to $98,700

Company Background and Culture

With headquarters in Vancouver, Canada, Taseko Mines Limited is a leading North American copper producer across a range of key dimensions: operational efficiency; low energy and GHG intensity, environmentally sound, socially responsible development; healthy and safe workplaces and communities.

The Company’s foundational asset is the long-life, low-cost Gibraltar copper mine in south-central British Columbia, for which it has won numerous environmental and safety awards for operational excellence. Gibraltar is a state-of-the-art facility and the second largest open pit copper mine in Canada, with a 700+ person workforce. Gibraltar produces an average of 130 million pounds of copper and 2.5 million pounds of molybdenum each year, with mineral reserves sufficient for more than 20 years of future operations.

Taseko is also advancing the Florence Copper Project in Arizona – a near-term copper producer with an unparalleled energy, water and GHG profile per unit of production. Florence Copper is a unique ‘in-situ copper recovery’ project which, once operating, will significantly increase Taseko’s copper production. Once fully operational, the project will have a production capacity of 85 million pounds of copper per year over a 20-year mine life.

The Yellowhead Project is a large, long-life copper project that Taseko added to its development portfolio in 2019. Located 150km north of Kamloops in the Thompson-Nicola region of BC, the Yellowhead deposit is similar to the Gibraltar deposit in size and grade. The Company is currently preparing to initiate the provincial and federal Environmental Assessment process for Yellowhead, while advancing technical and other work required to move the project towards production.

Taseko’s strategy is to sustainably and profitably grow the company through developing our pipeline of high-quality advanced-stage mineral assets. We are looking for qualified applicants who are interested in joining our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process purchase requisitions generated by various departments.
  • Work closely with the Metallurgy Department and vendors for coordination of reagent deliveries.
  • Responsible for mill month end consumable reconciliation.
  • Adopt and apply procurement policy to all purchasing related activities.
  • Issue and evaluate RFQ’s and RFP’s.
  • Ensure optimal pricing with vendors on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist departments with employing proper procurement processes and communication of procurement policy.
  • Expediting and follow up of overdue orders to ensure timely deliveries.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
  • SCMP designation or equivalent Supply Chain training is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication and document management skills.
  • Experience in a mining or industrial construction environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience and working knowledge in a union environment would be advantageous.
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
The Community
  • Williams Lake has a population of approximately 12,000 but services nearly 25,000 as it is a central hub for many outlying smaller communities.
  • Adult recreational leagues for many popular sports including hockey, soccer, and softball.
  • A fantastic trail network for mountain biking, walking, and hiking.
  • Dozens of nearby lakes for fishing, paddling, and camping opportunities.
  • Close by cross country and downhill skiing venues.
