Job summary

Alithya in Toronto is seeking a Business System Analyst, Capital Markets to analyze and optimize front- and middle-office processes across derivatives, fixed income, equities and money market products.

You will collaborate with trading, risk and operations teams, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and support system implementations and UAT for ongoing improvements. This role blends business analysis with IT delivery in a hybrid Toronto setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, business or a related field.
• 5 to 7 years of experience as a business analyst.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with front & middle office for capital markets.
• Experience with financial software systems and platforms.
• Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies.
• Proven experience with SQL, including querying and data analysis.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in capital markets.

The salary range for this position in Ontario is $80,000 to $130,000. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills and competencies, and unique qualifications.

Your role, your impact

As a Business System Analyst, Capital Markets, you’ll work closely with various stakeholders to analyze, document and optimize business processes and systems related to derivative products.

• Analyze and document business requirements for front- and middle-office processes across multiple asset classes, including but not limited to derivatives, fixed income, equities and money market products;
• Collaborate with trading, risk and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of systems;
• Develop detailed business and functional specifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives;
• Conduct gap analysis and identify areas for process improvement and optimization;
• Support the implementation of new systems and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations;
• Work with IT and development teams to ensure accurate translation of business requirements into technical solutions;
• Participate in the testing and validation of new systems, including user acceptance testing (UAT);
• Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes and best practices in capital markets.

Keys to your success

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, business or a related field;
• 5 to 7 years of experience as a business analyst;
• Minimum 1 year of experience working as a business analyst with the front and middle office for capital markets;
• Experience with financial software systems and platforms;
• Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Advanced degree or certification in finance or business analysis;
• Proven experience working with SQL, including querying, data analysis, and troubleshooting;
• Experience with regulatory requirements and compliance in the capital market;
• Familiarity with project management practices and tools.
