The YMCA of Southern Interior BC has a childcare growth plan that currently operates 14 childcare locations, serves over 800 families and is on target to serve over 1000 families by building and opening several more childcare centers over the next few years.
The YMCA Child Care division is looking for a Business Support Coordinator to help reinforce our growing team. This individual excels at multi-tasking, taking initiative while balancing competing demands, and provides superior service to our children and families. Someone who is flexible and who can adapt during growth opportunities would feel successful in this role.

- Manage ongoing annual/monthly government changes to subsidies i.e., payments, refunds, monitoring.
- Build and maintain efficient childcare registration systems and processes.
- Provide efficient and effective data entry, bookkeeping, clerical, and administrative work relating to the registration and accounting systems in accordance with the approved standards and guidelines.
- Ensure accurate billing, fulfillment of waitlists and transportation requests efficiently.
- Work independently and alongside another Coordinator as the day-to-day liaison between the Association and childcare, with the ability to make sound judgements and decisions.
- Provide timely and efficient customer service through phone calls, email, and online inquiries.
We’d love to hear with people with:
- Post-secondary degree in a related field and a demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development.
- Experience working with accounting, government billing, and reconciling are considered assets.
- Higher business knowledge or specialized skills acquired, specifically in the areas of office administration, data entry, and customer service.
- Strong and proficient skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and exhibit superior customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of customer service software such as School Care Works & Avocado is considered an asset.
- Good judgement and sound decision making in resolving complex issues.
