About us:

Hart House is a centre for experiential education outside the classroom at the University of Toronto. Since 1919, it has served as a place for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader community to connect through arts, dialogue, and wellness programs. It operates from a historic facility on the St. George campus and a 150-acre farm in Caledon, Ontario, supporting student-focused programming across three campuses through a social enterprise model.

The Hart House IT department provides comprehensive support for hardware, software, networking, and peripherals, manages websites and e-commerce platforms, and collaborates on new system implementations to enhance operational efficiency.

Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of IT, the Business and Project Analyst will support IT initiatives, including developing an organizational reporting and analytics dashboard. This role involves engaging with stakeholders, assessing processes, and implementing improvements to meet strategic goals. The ideal candidate is goal-oriented, communicative, organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities independently.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Planning and implementing new business system processes
  2. Assessing needs and developing business systems
  3. Researching and recommending system enhancements
  4. Documenting business requirements
  5. Maintaining a dashboard for KPIs
  6. Providing system specifications to clients
  7. Testing applications for reliability
  8. Conducting Threat and Privacy Risk Assessments
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience
  • At least four years of experience with business system implementation in diverse OS environments
  • Proficiency with Office 365, email, web browsers, and ability to learn new tools
  • Knowledge of database management, data visualization, and analysis tools (SQL, PowerBI, Excel, Tableau)
  • Experience assessing vendor privacy practices and working with sensitive data
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Ability to manage work through a ticketing system, handle multiple issues, and exercise discretion
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail
Assets (Nonessential)
  • PMP, ITIL 4, or CompTIA Data+ certifications
  • Familiarity with UofT policies and FIPPA compliance
