Job summary

Rheinmetall Canada seeks a seasoned Business Expansion Director to drive orders in Canada and internationally, shaping capabilities in air defense and surveillance from bid to contract. You will lead cross-functional teams, craft winning strategies, and position the company with government partners while monitoring market offers and technology trends.

The role requires a degree in engineering and an MBA with 10+ years in defense, strong leadership, and English fluency; French is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Hold a degree in engineering and an MBA, or an equivalent degree.
  • Have at least 10 years of experience in the defense and security sector.
  • Possess experience or in-depth knowledge of Canadian government procurement mechanisms.
  • Possess experience in strategic and tactical planning, as well as in the implementation of large-scale, multi-million dollar projects.
  • Possess strong skills in strategic partnerships, collaboration agreements, and subcontractor positioning.
  • Possess a strong business acumen, combined with balanced negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written); proficiency in French would be an asset.

  • Support the development and positioning of capabilities to win market share in the defence field and other strategic markets.
  • Develop and implement important opportunities/strategies as well as prospecting and follow-up plans.
  • Develop innovative proposals and make strategic presentations to management.
  • Lead complex prospecting and follow-up teams, developing key arguments and the winning strategy as a team.
  • Ensure strategic positioning of Rheinmetall Canada with all levels of government.
  • Stay constantly informed of competing market offers and new technologies.
  • Communicate and implement the capture management plan, including selling price, competitive analysis, and design-to-cost, and lead a large multidisciplinary team of resources in accordance with the plan.

As the Business Expansion Director at Rheinmetall Canada, your main challenge will be to generate a significant volume of orders within the framework of strategic opportunities in Canada and internationally. You will drive the development and positioning of Rheinmetall Canada's capabilities in the air defense and surveillance markets, from the bid decision to contract conclusion.
