As a Business Development Manager within Group Retirement Savings, you develop and manage relationships with key strategic partners (consultants) and client prospects to showcase our capabilities, demonstrate added value, and grow our market share. You are looking to build and expand your skills and experience while partnering with a provider positioned for growth in the GRS market across Canada. As part of the GRS Business Development team, your interactions with internal and external resources will align with Desjardins’ core behaviours: simple, people-focused, modern, and high-performing, ensuring we act in the best interest of our plan members, clients, and partners.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop business relationships with a defined block of key strategic partners (consultants) based in Ontario and across Canada as part of an annual business plan.
- Promote solutions and service offerings aligned with the business unit's objectives and strategies, including coordination of capability presentations to showcase our service offerings.
- Work with key strategic partners to understand their needs, address them, and develop relationships accordingly.
- Through direct meetings and industry events, promote a strong understanding of Desjardins’ service offerings and showcase our value to grow the Desjardins brand within the consulting community.
- Lead sales opportunities from initiation to completion, including handling RFPs, coordinating with teams, and leading short-list presentations.
- Contribute to internal projects requiring in-depth knowledge of the group retirement savings sector and bring partners’ and clients’ perspectives to discussions.
- Collaborate internally within the division and with Group Benefits Insurance and other Desjardins teams to resolve issues, identify opportunities, and grow the business.
- Participate in sharing best practices within the business development team.

What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of nine years of relevant experience
- Experience in retirement and savings, group or institutional
- Expert proficiency in English, necessary for interactions with partners, members, and clients
- Knowledge of legislative and regulatory environments
- Availability to travel within Ontario and across Canada
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Effective communication skills, results-driven, interpersonal savvy
