Job summary

Colsafety, whose Canadian HQ is in Burlington, ON, seeks a Business Development Manager to grow our sales across Canada and the US. You will build and manage a sales territory, nurture client relationships, and collaborate with Marketing and the VP of Sales to hit quarterly and annual targets.

The role requires proven experience expanding territories, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a proactive customer-focused approach, with travel up to 10% for events and client meetings.

Qualifications

  • Experience creating and growing a sales territory or category vertical is required.
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating and meeting client requirements.
  • Marketing Research experience is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge and experience with technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by learning products and supporting clients via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly while maintaining accurate CRM records.
  • Work with the VP of Sales to create and execute a growth strategy for quarterly and annual sales and profitability goals.
  • Develop understanding of markets represented by our clients.
  • Develop relationships with industry influencers, potential new clients, and existing clients via phone, online, and in-person.
  • Identify and grow opportunities within the existing client portfolio.
  • Travel as needed to meet with clients, tradeshow and industry events (up to 10%).
  • Partner with Marketing and other functions to enable Sales discussions and growth.

This sought-after position requires extraordinary communication methods, social skills, and time management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, by learning our products, to provide additional support to clients via phone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally while maintaining accurate and detailed customer records in our CRM system
  • Work with the VP of Sales to create and execute a growth strategy for quarterly and annual sales and profitability goals
  • Develop a solid understanding of the characteristics and trends of all markets represented by our clients
  • Develop quality relationships with industry influencers, potential new clients, and existing clients as appropriate, including via phone, online, and in-person
  • Identify and grow opportunities within the existing client portfolio
  • Travel as needed to meet with existing and potential clients, for tradeshow and industry events, and for internal GME events, as necessary (estimated travel up to 10%)
  • Partner with Marketing and other business functions to enable Sales discussions, driving the growth of current and new clients

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Experience creating and growing a sales territory or category vertical is required
