What is the opportunity?
The Business Development Associate (BDA) plays an important role within the Advisor Channel Sales (ACS) team by providing pre- and post-sales planning, support, and relationship management. BDAs contribute to meeting sales objectives by partnering with District Vice Presidents (DVP) and Business Development Managers (BDM). The team plans and executes territory sales strategies to retain assets and increase sales by cultivating relationships with Investment Advisors and delivering insights to position RBC GAM and RBC iShares as primary investment partners.

Job Summary

The BDA promotes the execution of the territory business plan through sales enablement, relationship building, and regulatory compliance within two territories. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Position RBC GAM's value to Investment Advisors to secure meetings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Investment Advisors and partners, providing excellent service.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Sales Practices and Compliance.
  • Plan and execute promotional campaigns and events.
  • Manage the opportunity pipeline through discovery and analysis.
  • Generate leads and sales opportunities using sales data and reports.
  • Manage territory expenses and budgets.
  • Travel regionally and nationally for meetings and conferences.

Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • Enrollment or completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
  • Experience in sales or client-facing roles.
  • Interest in capital markets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the mutual funds industry.
  • Knowledge of wealth management.
  • Experience with Salesforce, WebEx, Fund Comparison Tools, Morningstar.
