Job summary

Air Canada, based in Montreal, QC, is seeking a Data Analyst to drive data-informed decisions in maintenance operations. You will analyze large data sets with Excel, SQL, and Power BI, design reporting solutions, and own KPI tracking to improve service and efficiency.

You will work with cross-functional teams, develop insights from data warehousing concepts, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Power BI experience.
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.
  • Experience with SQL for data extraction.
  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics.
  • 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience.
  • Experience in Operations, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
  • Understanding data warehousing and data modeling.
  • Fluency in a modeling language such as Python or R.
  • Experience with one or more statistical modeling languages/toolboxes.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieving and analyzing large sets of data using Excel, SQL, and other data management systems.
  • Designing and implementing reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
  • Taking ownership of reporting processes to ensure that each report is accurate and timely with a high degree of customer focus in resolving data discrepancies.
  • Building and managing related KPIs to measure, control, and benchmark reporting processes.
  • Monitoring existent metrics, building new metrics, and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of the existent program implementation.
  • Generating complex queries to dive deep on process issues.
  • Innovating to improve customer experience.

Key duties
