The Salvation Army Canada is seeking a Business Analyst, Operational Excellence (Total Rewards) to drive HR data, processes and cloud-based solutions, with a focus on Workday Total Rewards. Qualifications

  • University degree in computer science or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Workday Certifications (preferable) or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3–5 years of Workday experience including business processes, reporting and demand management.
  • 2–3 years of experience in Business Analysis with requirements gathering and process mapping.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Workday Compensation, Benefits, and Absence Management and related governance.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit and document HR requirements from HQ, Divisions, and frontline teams to ensure value across the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and system integrators to analyze HR processes and support Workday People Experience implementations.
  • Leverage HR data and analytics to identify trends and deliver actionable insights.
  • Recommend process and data management improvements for data quality and governance.
  • Lead data migration, validation, reconciliation, and audit activities for system transitions.

This role leads the implementation and continuous improvement of cloud-based HR solutions, working closely with stakeholders and external partners to ensure HR data, business processes, and system configurations are accurate, efficient, and aligned with organizational goals. As the functional expert for Workday Total Rewards, the incumbent provides data-driven insights and ensures compliance, enabling HR leaders to make informed decisions that enhance operational excellence and support The Salvation Army's mission across Canada. **Key Accountabilities:** * Elicit and document business requirements from Territorial Headquarters, Divisional Headquarters, Ministry Units, and frontline teams to ensure HR solutions address operational needs and deliver value across the organization.* Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and system integrators to analyze HR processes, define solution requirements, and support effective Workday People Experience implementations.* Leverage HR data and analytics tools to identify trends, develop custom reporting solutions, and provide actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.* Recommend process and data management improvements that enhance data accuracy, quality, governance, and reporting capabilities across HR functions.* Implement system enhancements, dashboards, and reporting solutions within cloud-based HR platforms to drive continuous improvement, user adoption, and operational excellence.* Mitigate project and operational risks by identifying issues, escalating concerns as needed, and executing approved resolutions to minimize business impact and ensure successful outcomes.* Manage HR data migration, validation, reconciliation, and audit activities to ensure data integrity, successful system transitions, and compliance with organizational standards.* Champion Workday Compensation, Benefits, and Absence Management processes by providing subject matter expertise, guiding change management activities, supporting strategic People Experience initiatives, and ensuring end-to-end process governance and system compliance. **Education and Experience Qualifications** * A university degree in computer science or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.* Workday Certifications (preferable benefits, compensation and absence) or equivalent years of hand-on experience.* 3-5 years of Workday Experience including business process, reporting and demand* management* 2 -3 years previous experience in Business Analysis. Business Problem Identification, Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, Requirement gathering and analysis, Value Analysis/Benefits Mapping, process mapping.* Demonstrated expertise in Workday Compensation, Benefits, and Absence Management, with the ability to configure, optimize, and support HR technology solutions.* Proven experience delivering complex, high-profile projects within multi-system and multi-entity environments, ensuring successful outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.* Strong business relationship management skills, with the ability to build partnerships, analyze business needs, influence decision-making, and effectively challenge assumptions to drive optimal solutions.* Experience working in Agile project environments, contributing to cross-functional teams and adapting to evolving priorities and business requirements.* Knowledge of Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies, with the ability to identify efficiencies and enhance business processes.* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to interpret complex data, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.* Excellent communication, adaptability, and self-development skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and continuously enhance professional capabilities.**Compensation:**The target hiring range for this position is $85,321.60 to $106,641.60 with a maximum of $127,982.40.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.The Salvation Army will provide reasonable accommodation upon request.
