Job summary

EXL is seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with experience in data analysis, testing, and UAT to validate requirements and support delivery.

You will work with stakeholders, QA, and development teams to analyze data, develop test cases, create dashboards in Power BI/Tableau, and execute UAT sessions to ensure accurate solutions.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or related role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation.
• Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and reporting.

• Experience in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and business process analysis.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and actionable insights.
• Develop and execute test cases, test scenarios, and UAT plans based on business requirements.
• Validate data accuracy, business rules, and system functionality through testing activities.
• Perform root cause analysis for data and reporting issues and coordinate resolution with technical teams.
• Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI and Tableau.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
• Utilize Python for exploratory data analysis, data validation, and automation of repetitive tasks.
• Collaborate with business users, QA teams, developers, and project managers during project delivery.
• Facilitate UAT sessions, track defects, and ensure timely closure of issues.
• Prepare BRDs, functional specifications, test cases, and user documentation.
• Support production releases and post-implementation validations.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst with experience in Data Analysis, Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The ideal candidate should possess strong data analytical skills, be proficient in SQL and reporting tools, and have hands-on experience validating business requirements through functional testing and stakeholder engagement. Candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills

Must-Have

• 2-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or related role
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation
• Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and reporting

• Strong understanding of Testing and UAT methodologies

• Data Quality Assessment and Reconciliation
• Test Planning, Defect Tracking, and UAT Coordination
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts
• Exposure to ETL processes and data pipelines
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
• Experience working with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools

Preferred Domain Experience

• Insurance domain experience preferred but not mandatory
• Exposure to Property & Casualty (P&C), Claims, Underwriting, Policy, or Reporting processes will be an added advantage

Communication & Soft Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong stakeholder management and client interaction capabilities
• Ability to facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, and UAT sessions
